The Luminescence ICW Program

Alzheimer's Disease. Dementia. Cognitive Decline.
These very words bring out fear and despair. Many people including doctors, health administrators, care professionals, family members, and most of the general public, see these words as a death sentence. The long good-bye.
It does not have to be that way. Modern science is now showing us that we have options, in fact, more options than we might realize . . . to change that outcome.

The Luminescence Integrative Cognitive Wellbeing (ICW) program is a whole-person approach that addresses most of the factors impacting our cognitive and general health. The components of the program have been proved effective by thorough research, science, and clinical trials conducted over many years. The Luminescence ICW Program has utilized these components in a unique way that maximizes results.
The program is delivered in a way that has the best chance of creating synergy (which is when the whole is greater than the sum of its parts).
It is not a quick fix but a full, targeted lifestyle upgrade. That is the best option now and will be into the future. Even if there was some "magic pill" that was developed in the future that could address the Alzheimer disease pathology, it would not work anywhere near its potential, unless it was accompanied by a lifestyle upgrade such as this.
Targeted lifestyle medicine is the future, and that is exactly what the Luminescence ICW program delivers!
This program was first developed in 2009 and was one of the first multi-modal, integrative, dementia mitigation programs anywhere. It was formulated to help an elderly woman who had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, some eight years earlier.
The results turned out to be better than expected: She ended up not just surviving but thriving for 22 years at the symptomatic level, and lived a healthy, happy, engaged, functional life to over one hundred and a half years old! Very few people anywhere in the world have ever accomplished that feat.
In 2018 a second person was put on a limited version of the program also with positive results. What is becoming evident is that this approach can work, to some degree, with everyone. By 2020 it became apparent that this story needed to be shared.
This led to the book: "UP AND DOWN AND EVEN SIDEWAYS" This book tells the story of Dorothea, her dementia journey, and the program that helped her thrive, despite having dementia. Many of the aspects of the program can be used to help others. While the program can be safely used by individuals, it is most practical in a congregate setting. That is what we are striving for.
To this end, it is ready to be funded, licensed, and implemented within a select residential care setting. This requires a re-design in order to meet the high standards required for such a program. It is possible to do this in a cost effective way. Superior dementia care no longer needs to be only within the realms of the very rich.
The book introduces us to the concept and gives us a taste of what it can do.
A comprehensive development plan is already in the works to take this from concept to a viable reality.

By using a whole person, multi-modal, integrative approach, we can address most of the factors that lead to dementia. Then we can slow the decline, optimize health, increase quality of life, and create a better outcome.
