Del J. Muzzillo has worked in the field of integrative health for over 40 years. Prior to that he was a ski coach, instructor, competitor, and ski mountaineer. He served as an instructor and course director for a large Outward Bound school, worked occasionally as an adventure-travel guide, sharing his passion of the outdoors.

He was involved in a sports training program that used whole-brain, natural learning. This led him to his interest in health, wellness, and human potential. He returned to college, where he enrolled in the the first Wellness Education Program in the U.S.

Initially trained as a health educator, he managed a health center in Colorado, a health resort in California, developed a healthy lifestyle program for an executive conference center in California, has worked with private clients, and coordinated health seminars in British Columbia.

He has worked with a diverse clientele from heads of state, to business leaders, to low-income seniors. The one demographic that became close to his heart though, was elderly people who are dealing with dementia. Over the past 16 years, his focus has shifted to them and their caregivers. This has entailed thousands of hours of research, study, development, and real world application.

From this he used his experience and knowledge to craft a multifaceted program for his own mother when she was diagnosed with with Alzheimer's caused dementia. It worked better than expected. This led to the development of the Luminescence Integrative Cognitive Wellness (ICW) Program. An updated version of this program is still available today.

Since 2006, he has been researching the care protocols and technologies that are the most helpful in reducing cognitive and functional decline. This, combined with his own experience, has culminated in the book: “Up and down and Even Sideways”
